How To Care For Your Swimsuit

Although swimming is quite minimalist in terms of gear you need in order to participate, you have to pay attention to the degree of wear and tear of your clothes. It is no secret that chlorine and sunlight are a harmful combination, and this is especially true when it comes to the effects it has on your swimwear.

Old swimsuits that have been worn for a long time are inevitable, but there are things you can do to extend the life of swimsuits and save some money by putting a bit of extra care into your wear.

In this guide, we will discuss some ways to care for and maintain the quality of swimsuits.

Avoid harsh detergents

Just like the harsh chemicals in laundry detergent can be damaging to your skin and health, they can also damage your swimsuit. The chemicals in some detergents will corrode the fabrics and eventually destroy the shape and elasticity of the swimsuit. We recommend using mild detergent or swimsuit cleaner when cleaning swimwear to avoid deterioration. Contact us to get more information about swimsuit.

Say no to detergent bleach

This is almost self-evident, but when washing and rinsing any swimsuit, stay away from using detergents, bleaches or bleaching chemicals.

Hand wash and air dry

The roughness of the inside of the washing machine and the intensity of the washing cycle may cause premature scratches and holes in the swimsuit. Similarly, the heat from the dryer can cause the swimsuit to fade and cause the swimsuit to deform. In order to achieve the best results and longer life, we recommend hand washing and air-drying your swimsuit on a flat surface to prevent stretching and discoloration.

Don't sit on rough surfaces

It’s second nature to want to sit on the pool deck or start exercising before and after exercise, but this will actually ruin your swimsuit. To reduce the chance of pilling-tiny, hairy balls appear on the surface of your clothes-we recommend that you put down the towel before sitting on any rough or rough surface. Besides, who wants to sit on the hot pool deck in the summer?

Rinse the suit with cold water

In order to remove the chlorine on the swimwear, rinse with cold water after each use. We strongly recommend to do this immediately after taking off the swimsuit, even if you don't have time to wash the swimsuit thoroughly with soap. By rinsing out salt water and/or chlorine-based chemicals, the lifespan, color and elasticity of the clothes can be prolonged.

Don't forget about your wet suit!

On your way home from the swimming pool, use a mesh bag or wet bag to for your swimsuit to air out and dry. There is nothing worse than returning home to a suit that smells of mildew from being bunched up in the bottom of your swim bag.
